For today’s second post I am keeping with the theme ‘sweets’. The picture shows a box of pineapple cakes. The cakes are from Taiwan and we got those as a gift. In Japan, and I believe also in other Asian countries, it is incredibly common to give and receive gift boxes like these. There is a certain shelf in one of the kitchen cupboards that I am trying to ignore as much as possible. It’s the snack shelf and it is a complete mess. This is a hot water bottle which is at least 15 years old. You can’t see it in the picture but the material is porous and there are small openings everywhere. My partner thinks this item shouldn’t be included in the memory archive as it’s being dumped due to old age. It also nearly got him seriously injured yesterday when I thought I’m doing something good by pre-warming the bed. That’s how we found out about its state actually.
