We’ve had this mug for years; I can’t even remember whether it was me or my partner who brought it into our household. It’s a promotional mug with a big, fat logo printed on one side of it. For this reason, I have no problem with discarding this mug today (even though it is still intact).
I used to have a tendency to take and keep all sorts of promotional items if I thought they were useful. Whether I really liked an item, played a second role. Over the recent years my way of thinking has changed quite a bit. Nowadays I really want to fall in love with an item before buying it. It’s not always that easy but being firm, trying to really stick to this principle, pays off if you are trying to bring your belongings down to a manageable number.
