To make up for a missed day this week, I decided to add a new place to my list of Tokyo’s quiet spaces.
When you live in a big city like Tokyo, you constantly see people come and go. I stopped counting how many friends whom I’ve met here in Japan, I already had to say good-bye to. This is the answer sheet of a birthday treasure hunt that I came up with. The sheet has been floating around the house, being spotted in various places over the past months, so I finally decided that we do no longer have to keep it. Even though there were tears, a (minor) injury and lots of pointing at hints involved, the treasure hunt was a success, I’d say.
One of the food discoveries I made over the past years, living in Japan, was finding out about ume (Japanese plum). Rather an apricot than a plum, it is easily distinguished by its extremely sour taste. Continue reading “memory archive – day 61.1”
